Cherry ๐ ยท Fruit Turtle no.3 of 6
Hi, I'm Red, your Emergency turtle
Peace of mind for little adventures โ a tiny, useful charm that quietly helps your child when they need it most.
My job: dials a chosen emergency contact
One-tap emergency contact
For when something feels wrong. Programmed to dial an emergency contact โ a grandparent, a neighbour, a trusted friend โ so help is one tap away even if a child can't remember a phone number.
For Parents
Setting up your red turtle
Takes about three minutes. You'll need a free app and your phone.
1
Download a free NFC writing app
On iPhone or Android, search the app store for NFC Tools by Wakdev โ it's free, well-trusted, and what we use ourselves.
2
Choose what to write
Open NFC Tools and tap
For red turtles, choose:
Write โ Add a record. For red turtles, choose:
Phone number โ enter an emergency contact (not 999 directly โ choose a grandparent, neighbour, or trusted friend who can act). Tapping will offer to dial.
3
Tap your turtle to write
Tap
Write in the app, then hold the turtle flat against the back of your phone for a few seconds. You'll hear a beep when it's done. Remove your phone case if the read is slow โ these chips are small (8mm).
4
Test it, then lock it
Tap your turtle again to check it does what you wanted. Once you're sure it's right, you can use NFC Tools'
Other โ Lock tag feature to make it permanent โ nobody can accidentally overwrite it. This step is one-way, so only lock when you're certain.
An honest note: NFC tags only work when a phone touches them โ they don't track location, send alerts on their own, or work over distance. Think of them as a tiny, friendly emergency card sewn into a keychain.

A reward app, made for these turtles.
We're building a small, calm reward app where children tap their turtle to log everyday wins โ tidying up, brushing teeth, helping out โ and earn stars, streaks and small treats agreed with their grown-up. Be the first to try it.
โ You're on the list. We'll be in touch.
